Finance Problem – Cash Flow Calculation?

cash flow
Sunny asked:

What is the present value of a perpetual cash inflow of $1000 received at the end of each year, the first inflow occurring 2 years from now, if the interest rate is 5% per annum? This cash flow can be produced by investing $10 000 in a business this year and $6000 next year. What is the present value of the investment? Is it profitable?

Finance cash flow question?

cash flow
Physics 101 asked:

Year Cash Flow
0 -380
1 30
2 90
3 150
4 220

The required rate of return is 6% per year.

The question asks to compute the PV of the cash flows for 4%, 6%, 8% and 10%.

I know your not actually supposed to start at year 0. Just wondering if someone could show me/explain how to compute the first one at least.

Thanks
