How do you see what a company is investing in from it’s cash flow?

If you look at their cash flow statement on msnmoney there is a sections that shows cash being used to purchase investmets listed as “purchase of investments”! My question where can you find what exactly they are purchasing as investments with that money? Like if they are buying stock etc. Etc. Any ideas?

You might find some information in their quarterly and annual reports.
